Every update from Marty he's stated "Kiffin desperately wants to coach his team through the playoffs" I think it's an orchestrated effort by Lane,Sexton and media pals to pressure OM AD. I doubt we here the "decision" (that's already been made) untill after the Iron Bowl pending a Bama win.

If Ole Miss gets to championship with a Bama loss it's more pressure on AD to let him coach through playoffs.

LSU wants him in Baton Rouge tomorrow for signing day. How does this work contractually?

Every minute a decision is delayed, he remains the Ole Miss coach.

Find it hard to believe LSU would wait that long with nothing signed

If I’m LSU I let Ole Miss pressure Lane and force him to decide. Just sit and keep waiting. It’ll play out soon. It would not surprise me. We hired Ed Orgeron because he had a binder.

Feels like they have told him they will wait, otherwise I doubt very seriously it would have played like this......could be wrong.

Ole Miss can also call Lane’s bluff and just say “ok sure you can coach the CFP - I’m sure your new bosses would love it waiting 3-6 weeks or whatever”.

At this point go get another coach. Tell Kiffin he has 30 minutes to either shite or get off the pot. Apparently he doesn’t want the LSU job bad enough.

LSU would be happy to wait, Lane can put his staff together pretty quickly, bring on O and let O, Frank and Raymond handle recruiting while he finishes up his season. Just recruits knowing Kiffin is the coach will have them flipping.

He wants it. He wants to coach his current team in the play-offs too.

He is definitely more concerned with his current team than his “future” team. That’ a problem to me.

Why is it a problem?

I would be more concerned if he didn’t want to finish the season with his team. What he’s doing shows he’s matured and realizes LSU is a step up in terms of everything related to what it takes to win championships, but not abandoning the players is also a big priority.

That will also help with recruiting

Yeah but you’d have nothing but a MOU if he changes his mind.

Plus judging by this board ppl don’t seem to have any interest waiting 3 hours much less 3 weeks

Then LSU needs to wait because drop off is massive.

I could see a scenario where we have an agreement in place. Ole Miss knows it but wants to save face and say you cant or LSU cant announce any time during the playoff or we let you go immediately. And Lane wants to announce now for recruiting purposes but coach and Ole Miss is like no way out of image and jealousy

The bigger issue for LSU is player retention, signing class & portal work needing to start asap.
