Actually it is. We have to deal with their illegal immigration as the people flee, they do have a nexus to the drug trade.
Cuba, China, and even Iran are using Venezuela as a base to cause more problems in Latin America. That is the real reason for replacing Maduro, who stole power.

This isn't just about drugs. The Western Hemisphere is our backyard. Guess who is very friendly with Maduro and his regime: China and Russia. Guess who are two biggest geopolitical foes are: China and Russia. Both countries have been exerting economic, military, and diplomatic influence over that country.
