If Lane were staying at Ole Miss why on earth would he let his team go through a very public distraction right before the biggest game of the year and their shot at the playoffs? He has had a billion chances to shut up the noise, pump his team up, and just say he’s staying at ole miss. Now reports out that Florida is officially out of the race. Combine these facts with every single LSU insider guranteeing that it’s over tells every logical thinking person that the Lane Train is indeed departing for Baton Rouge! KISS Keep It Simple Stupid. Quit overthinking it. It’s done. It’s over. We gotten him!

You just lost 3/4 of the board when you said “Adults”

The main benefit would be that Ole Miss knows he’s staying, but he completely derails the LSU search.

Not saying that’s what is happening, but it’s definitely a possibility

Agree.

I think of it in the same light as you've been dating a girl for 5 years, propose and she says sorry I'm not ready to commit yet.

Very awkward situation and 90% of the time they end up going in different direction.

Ole Miss proposed last Friday with an extension and raise and he said no

This or the dude is just truly torn and LSU has foolishly allowed him to basically flip a coin.

This logic applies to most people. You can throw it out the window when it comes to Kiffin.

I can’t help but think that the most LSU thing ever would be for him to make an emotional decision to stay and coach the playoffs, only to lose in the first round and end up regretting it.

I really don’t see how you could stay after putting everyone through this week and dragging things out. That seems crazy to me.

The only way he’s staying is if he truly had a change of heart at the 11th hour. Even then, had he decided to stay on Tuesday or Wednesday he could have put this to bed then and he didn’t. I know some believe Kiffin is such a troll that he could string LSU along only to spurn in the end, but there is no way the OM administration would go along with that.

So he’s willing to risk de-railing a playoff season for his own team in order to de-rail LSU’s search? I can buy that he’s emotionally torn on what to do and ends up backing out of a deal with LSU at the last minute, but there’s no way he’s know all along he was staying but just trolling people.

I’m thinking they all know at Ole Miss that he’s staying. Coaches and players. Just a thought, not saying that’s what’s happening. But he’s obviously a troll and if he does stand us up he would screw LSU pretty hard and we would hire a bum.

If they knew he was staying there’s no way they could keep that from leaking out. The players certainly wouldn’t be so motivated to troll LSU that they wouldn’t reassure family and friends.

This could be a possibility but he would also have to be content with ending his career at Ole Miss. If this is what he's doing, he will have zero credibility with any other school going forward. I have a hard time believing Sexton would advise him on this route as it severely limits future options. But we're also talking about Lane Kiffin.

This would be an elite level of arrogance on Lane’s part. To think we can’t find a good HC and will we would drive OM into the ground every opportunity we had

Things have leaked out. People just don’t know which leaks to believe. There’s been not a single peep that Kiffin told his players and staff he is staying and gave them the proof they would need to believe him. There’s no way players wouldn’t have shared that with family and friends. They have no motivation to do so.

That’s where I’ve been - I’ve thought all along he would stay in Oxford, but why would he allow this week of nonsense and distractions to continue into Egg Bowl week if he was staying?
