as if any more evidence was needed that Cantrell is without question the worst public servant in this city’s 300+ year history

Moreno said if she made no cuts to the budget and continued the spending from the past administration, the city would have $948 million in expenditures, which would leave the city in a $222.4 million deficit.
According to Moreno, this budget reflect "complete mismanagement" of funds by Mayor LaToya Cantrell's administration.

Moreno is also slashing travel expenses. The city's current budget of $600,000 for travel will be reduced to just 25%. All travel will have to be for essential work and must be approved by the CAO's office. Moreno is also working to find ways to increase revenue for the city next year by adding 50 parking employees and seeking $100 million in unpaid parking tickets.

Moreno said she is also working to reduce take-home cars across the city government. According to Moreno, Mayor LaToya Cantrell has four cars.

Where was the city council?

Same folks that voted for her in the past would blindly do it again.

Well, if it’s cause is mismanagement, then she should be able to fix it with good management. Tax increases not needed.

Many may argue otherwise, but I believe Mitch did more lasting damage to the city.

It's always a good idea to hire people to write tickets that no one pays anyway.

NO is so fricked

How can a high profile city council member be so blindsided by this news?
Posted on 11/25/25 at 5:48 pm to cgrand
It’s funny watcher her supporters act like she wasn’t on city council and isn’t a New Orleans politics swamp creature

Cantrell and her stooges were lying to the council. The budget they submitted was fraudulent and should result in indictments for malfeasance

Well Moreno was part of it. She’s gaslighting us trying to make us believe that she wasn’t part of it.

I have always had my suspicions on the parking scam. It used to be meter maids that would go empty the coins and count the money from the hundreds or thousands of parking meters in the city and how much of it was pocketed by nefarious city workers on the take.
Now you have a contractor that installed credit card readers and manage websites that take a nice cut of the juice and you still have parking enforcement officers that cut tickets if you are one or two minutes over your parking time. I wonder if you eliminated parking meters, would it save the city money in the long run and encourage people back downtown. Those repurposed those parking enforcement officers can become regular NOPD officers and have any NOPD officer write a parking ticket if you are parking for too long or in a prohibited zone or other infraction.
Just a thought. I know some smaller cities got rid of the meters because they cost to much in maintenance and manpower.

Helena isn’t blindsided by this. She knew exactly where to look which is why this is coming out before she’s even officially in office.
Helena has the benefit of pinning the entire mess on Latoya, and Teedy really can’t do anything about it. She’s a proven liar and very unpopular.

Except when it comes to the votes. Maybe you mean she's very unpopular with people that aren't dumbasses.
