Who remember the first Serop's on Government across the street from Calandro's? I remember as a child loving the belly dancers.

you know the Baton Rouge food scene is in trouble when a Greek/Lebanese joint in the middle of town can't even survive.

What’s the reason given for it closing for those of us that don’t subscribe to the business report

It's amazing how many places have shut down in that area when it should have a pretty large amount of traffic, along with the surround area being fairly affluent. Maybe Cava took a good bit of business away?

That's a Serop's Express which I believe are owned by a different branch of the family.

Survive? I mean its not like they dont have 4 other express locations and one full service location still operating. They may relocate the one on Corporate.

I’m wondering if the Albasha location down the road on Corporate does good business

Cava is not that good. Not a fan of pickles in Greek food. No one else in town does that.

It wouldn't surprise me if it's not dissimilar to Perkins Rowe: rent is just too high to justify keeping a restaurant there.

It seems to do tremendous business. I go once a week and it is always full with many pick up orders going out too.

Wow. That's my favorite Greek restaurant in town. Bummer

Serop’s express is serviceable but Albasha is so much better for a sit down dinner.

belly dancers.
I forgot about them. That Serop's was my first experience with Greek/Lebanese food, mid 1970's.
