Also any Marine officer is considered a combat Marine first regardless of their rank and other duties.

Ask any military guy, at some point it’s about whose arse you suck to get those medals. It has zero to do with your ability as a soldier.

I don’t know about the Marines, but in the AF JAG Officers go through the same training as any officer from enlistment to the awarding of the bars…
