Tipping for counter service

I just tip 10% every time now. Not because I want to, but because I’m scared of the stank faced server telling the goons in the back to spit in my food

The only person who cares is likely the owner who is keeping all of those counter tips. He thanks you for the extra 10%.

I always click Custom and then input -100%

I actually make it a point to hit zero since it auto selects 10%
Not tipping anywhere I walk up to a counter and they hand me food

I give the kids at the pizza place 15%. Respectful, courteous, immediately do what I ask without any BS not giving a frick delays or excuses. All with a “yes sir”. Proper service. That’s 15% minimum even if counter service.

I always give the check out person a little cash and select 0 on the tip spot

Mom & pop places yes. Chains - maybe

Man up. That being said, 10% for taking your order, packaging, and checking it is reasonable

The frick it is. Ownership can’t afford to pay their employees? Raise the menu prices. Don’t turn a damn screen around at the end of a 10 second interaction and expect a tip before the meal has been consumed.

I tip because most are kids trying to earn a living instead of living on the government dole. I was once them. Now I’m blessed so I want to help them.

If the tipping mechanism is an electronic button, I hit 0. Some waited table restaurants are using hand helds with buttons, I hit the 20% button there. Ends up being less than when I pencil in a liberal estimation of 20%

They don't give me a discount for walking in so I don't give them a tip when walking out.

It is completely an option for you to go there or not. That being said, price elasticity is a thing and menu prices are a big issue in the industry

That new taco del cartel in Perkins Rowe (Baton Rouge) charges automatic gratuity for a part of 4 or more. They hurt themselves doing that crap. Let me decide how much based on the service. I usually tip more than 20%.
I don’t normally tip on counter service

If they spit in my food and I don’t realize it and enjoy my meal, who cares?
I think the average human eats 10 lbs of spiders in their lifetime. shite is fricked…

I'm not paying them a tip if they're working the counter unless they're going to hop over and try to fight me.

If the counter server is very nice and personable, I’m more likely to tip maybe 10%. If they are just going through the motions or stonefaced, no tip.
