He said that at his dad's funeral, he saw all the people from all the places they moved around to throughout his career, he realized that all the moves just became part of his story and gave him the opportunity to impact all those people.

Said it as it was a good thing.

Boom, baby! He's leaving.

I'm not watching but how did that question even come up? Monte died a year and a half ago

Surprised he answered it. He shut down every other question about the situation.
ETA: he was asked about how his past coaching moves / changes have impacted his career.

So then what happens in five or six years down the road?

You wouldn’t take a 6 year run with a potential championship during that period?

Are you going to hire the best possible coach, or the coach you expect to stick around the longest?

Hopefully we’re elite enough to attract the next great coach.

We’re elite enough where leaving ole miss for LSU is a no brainer. That is the only hope I have on landing Kiffin. Long term it’s an easy decision, but I’ve never seen a coach have it as good as Lane has it in Oxford. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if he decides to stay.

I don't see it happening.

I’d be a mix of surprise and understanding. Not shocked though.

That’s reasonable but nothing would surprise me with Lane. I would be more understanding if anything.
