Shea’s prediction is Lane to LSU, per his most recent On3–but deal not done yet

Cliffs: Shea Dixon reports that despite the silence behind the scenes, LSU’s power brokers — the President, Governor, Board, major boosters, and the search committee — are all aligned on Kiffin as the top target. LSU had built strong momentum this past week, and while Carter’s decision to delay Kiffin’s announcement to after egg bowl may have shifted the rollout LSU hoped for, sources still believe LSU remains in a very strong position. It could even be “signed, sealed and delivered” already, with the few people who know keeping it under wraps until the agreed-upon announcement window.

Dixon also stresses that nothing is final until Kiffin signs, and Jimmy Sexton will continue doing what he always does — getting every school (LSU, Ole Miss, Florida) to push their best offer to maximize money, resources, and NIL commitments for his client. That means we’ll hear about schools “countering” all week, but that’s just part of Sexton’s process. Dixon still predicts LSU wins out, but he cautions that Kiffin + Sexton is unpredictable unless you’re in the room when the term sheet gets signed. Bottom line: the decision could leak at any moment, but by next Saturday at the latest we’ll finally know.
