What are your thoughts on this quote from Canadian anthropologist Wade Davis? Do you agree or disagree?
“The world in which you were born is just one model of reality. Other cultures are not failed attempts at being you; they are unique manifestations of the human spirit.”

just like religion whatever you are born into is all you know, for the most part. Very few people even consider differences to be valid

That’s one of those quotes that you laugh at because it’s way too hippie

I don't know if I agree or disagree, but it is an interesting starting point for a conversation, especially as it relates to existence and consciousness. In many Eastern religions, attachment to one's own reality is a hindrance to personal spiritual growth.

pretty sure I know what you're referencing, and that isn't culture, that's some sort of gross mutation that's like a cancer spreading rapidly

Yet the do gooders want to go in and change their “unique”cultures.

Other cultures that I’ve been lucky enough to spend time with often dispel the stereotypes that are often spread through sites like ours.

I think we have a lot of baws on here that have never ventured very far from mama and have adopted their parents stereotypes as their reality

Like cultures that venerate a grown man who married a 7 year old girl?

True.
And what a tough concept for Americans and especially Christians.

other cultures have their uniqueness but the human spirit transcends all cultures

The left wing fascination with multiculturalism is pathological.

I love the cultures, especially in parts of Africa and the Middle East where you can be murdered for being a white Christian. Such vibrant cultures
