To consistent 10 win seasons and a solid playoff contender. I don’t see the issue with how he is handling things and probably wants to make sure his team is in good hands after the Egg Bowl and positioned for a strong playoff run (if he’s leaving). Drink, Dillingham, etc. may all be currently pursued by other teams but are obviously waiting for the end of the regular season.

If it were that easy, LSU would have pursued Gruden or some other out of work bum campaigning for a job.

Sure he gets a bonus for them making playoff. Not sure if it matters if he is still coach when that is announced. Depends on contract language and for the attorneys to figure out

Its easy to win 10 games when your strength of schedule is shite.....lmao. Ole Miss had the 14th hardest schedule in just the SEC alone this year.

LINK

Espn even has them at 13 with their power index rating taking in all stats....lmao. Even Texas ranked higher.

We ran off the only coach we’ve ever had that let us to consistent 10 win seasons

Miles was so perplexing. His teams were tough as nails but he just wouldn’t evolve. Amazing that he won so many games despite the game management issues and pure reluctance to alter any offensive scheme or strategy. “We’re gonna will our team to run into 8 in the box”. No telling how many championships he would have had if the offense was more versatile. He had the defense and a team that would knock the snot out of their opponent.

Brian Kelly...2 times Coach of the Year.....winning record of 297-109.....and 9-5 in bowl games......but hey.....lets give more money to the guy thats already failed at two major universities(Tennessee and USC).....never won any coaching accolades...winning record of 115-53 and a bowl record of 4-4 as head coach. Is that possible?.....

They only won by 5 points and that was at home.....and 2-9 Arkansas only lose by 1 point on the road so maybe the Arkansas coach should be hired.

Lane Kiffin had the 7th best recruiting class in 2010 at USC....he had the 4th best recruiting class in 2011 at USC.....and he actually ended up with a worse record in his 3rd year at USC than his 1st year at USC.....lmao. They ran him out of town at the beginning of his 4th year....kinda like LSU running Brian Kelly out of town. USC is a huge recruiting University.....just like LSU....Alabama....Georgia....ect.....so why do LSU fans think he is gonna be the man.....when he couldnt do it at USC?

People learn from mistakes and grow. Since then he worked/learned under Saban, went back to the basics as a head coach at FAU, and now Ole Miss. Not 100% guaranteed but seems like he’s not the same guy who failed at USC and TN.

Nah their strength of schedule is shite because they were gifted the easiest SEC schedule in the league over the 2-year transition period, AND because Ole Miss goes out of their way to schedule the weakest possible P4 OOC opponents. LSU being shite certainly helps but it’s more than that.

Mississippi State has 7 opponents who are currently ranked. 11 of the 16 SEC teams (including LSU) have at least 5 opponents who are currently ranked. 14 of the 16 teams have at least 4.

Ole Miss has 2.

Even if LSU was good they’d still have a bottom 2-3 SOS in the conference once the season ends.

Like who?....LSU fans keep saying this..... lets see the list.....what coaches have been at two major universities as head coach and had great recruiting classes and fail miserablly....only to go to a 3rd major university and win titles?

Are you a Notre Dame fan bashing Ole Miss’ SOS? Lmao. Notre Dame plays a straight powder puff schedule every season.

Give me Ole Miss SOS and Notre Dames SOS and lets see.....but I do agree that Notre Dame should play a harder schedule....but it doesnt take away from the topic that Kiffin is as soft as Ole Miss' schedule.

he wasn’t at Tennessee long enough to call it a failure.

was only there one season and won more games than the guy before him didn’t previous year.
and was apparently good enough to get hired on by USC

I guess LSU fans will have to learn the way USC fans did....I hope he comes to LSU now just to watch what happens.

Well, like Kiffin possibly this year. But in the grand scheme of things the answer really is, who cares. You don’t need a precedent for this. Nick Saban said his coaching trajectory changed while at Michigan State when he learned how to evolve from a transactional coach to a transformational leader. Who knows what influences have caused Kiffin to mature. That USC job was 12 years ago now. That’s a long time and he’s done plenty since.
