He’s going to be the mayor of the largest city in the US.
Trump wants to see America succeed and that means meeting with people ideologically different.
This could be a step towards Mamdani moderating.
ETA: And who knows, maybe Mamdani wants to be successful too and not just a idpol stooge. I guess we will see. You have to engage with people who disagree and compromise or convince.
