I hate to tell this tool, but being “shot at” in combat doesn’t mean you can’t later be a traitor to American values.
Plus, is there any real evidence he was ever shot at during Operation Dessert Storm? He was a naval aviator, there wasn’t a lot of dog fighting going on.

Maybe some small arms. SAMs were pretty much knocked out in the lead up.
