Not hard to figure out what Lane is thinking…

Lane is coaching through the playoffs regardless if he stays or goes. Ole Miss will not do anything. If he happens to win the National Championship he stays, however when he gets bounced he is leaving. LSU is betting that they don’t win it all and that they will lose first or second round. Lane had already secured a big NIL bag guarantee from all three schools. LSU is going to let him coach through the playoffs, Florida is not. LSU will sell to the recruits / transfers, he is coming but has to see the season through with Ole Miss so come on and here is some extra $$$. If you are an LSU fan, pulling for Ole Miss to lose first round or perhaps to Mississippi State.

I agree with you.
I'm hoping LSU has the patience to wait this out. Let Kiffin have his playoff run, and hope he gets bounced sooner than later.

LSU has already told LK he can continue to coach OM into the playoffs, that's if OM allows him too.

Absolutely.
The first round of the CFP is Dec. 19-20. The second round is Jan 1st. So LSU's going to sit around for a month waiting for a coach who is coaching another team, all while other programs are hiring their HCs and signing players...only to risk Kiffin having a change of heart, staying with Ole Miss, leaving LSU without a coach and other previously viable options picked over, with the transfer portal opening the next day?

I personally feel LSU is being duped. Being told what they want to hear and will be left at the altar in the final hour.
