Lunging for a ball, I heard a POP followed by extreme pain. Can’t put any weight on leg. Does this sound like an ACL injury? Calling doctor today.

If you schedule your pending MRI through Green Imaging (locations nationwide), it can be hundreds cheaper than going through a hospital system. I got a no contrast knee MRI in May for about $200 cash.

ETA: Run, do not walk (har har) to the ortho and MRI. You have five weeks to have the surgery to use your current deductible.

A POP and extreme pain is not good. Indicative of a tear.

"Lunging for a ball" is a little too vague to help. But if it was your front leg that was lunging and that knee rotated and bent inward, then I would say there is a good chance of an ACL injury. ACL injuries can incorporate more tissue than just the ACL. MCL and your Medial Mensicus are in play for injury as well.

As said earlier, go to your Ortho.

Hope this helps.

I am not a doctor or anything like that but I am pretty sure you injured yourself.

Make sure your will is up to date with any grandkids that may have come along over the last decade or 2.
