Trump’s wing it and troll economic plan: There is no plan.

Right now, Trump’s approach to the economy is feeling more reactive than strategic. The current polls are showing 3/4 of all voters view the economy negatively and approval of Trump’s economic handling is now at a record low even among you who have been his core supporters. The costs for groceries, housing, healthcare, and utilities are still rising and are hitting everyone hard. As this goes on, we can only blame the last administration for so long. They certainly fricked it up. That has never been in doubt. But when are we going to see some change?

Instead of pushing a clear and long-term economic plan, Trump seems more effective at political posturing. He's becoming good now at trolling and “owning” Americans instead of just libs and overseas adversaries. That is, those of us who voted for him -- even than at delivering economic wins especially compared to economic rivals like China, the UK or Western Europe. This is becoming more evident because even Republicans acknowledge the economic pain and are feeling left behind. On economics, I honestly expected more.

What’s frustrating is that the economy under Trump is doing as badly or worse as it did under Biden. While I would argue that Democrats wouldn’t have done any better (and no, they wouldn't have), this excuse is now wearing thin as inflation and costs keep rising. More of Trump’s own supporters are starting to feel like they never really belonged in the “Make America Great Again” vision because it’s not clear who his economic policies actually benefit. Hell, do they benefit the middle class? No, it doesn't seem like it. The Rich even? Not really. Doesn't seem like anyone who works hard is benefiting.

At this point, it’s fair to ask: which part of America is Trump really trying to make great again? All of this is starting to show that Trump does not have a coherent vision except to promote Trump.

I'm hopeful in the next election that Rubio or Vance can win and get everything in working order again but if this continues (and there's no indication that it won't), we probably won't get that chance in 2028 and yet another Democrat will get elected and puts us around $50-60T in debt and we're screwed at that point.
