Thoughts on the C7 Corvette

2nd shortest production run of all the Corvettes (only 5 years) I seem to always turn my head to follow them when I happen to see one on the road (which isn’t all that often). It seems like they were here and gone and sort of forgotten about with the C8.
I have never seen a C7 ZR1 in person. I like the look better than the C8, which has some awkward angles. I would put it high on the list for best looking iteration, behind the C2.

The C7 really has some good lines, the Z06/ZR1 more so, the ZR1 is still holding a value north of 150k, you can get in a Z06 quite a bit cheaper than that,,,,a 2025 Z06 will match the launch numbers of the C7 ZR-1, but the ZR1 will outrun it on top speeds. Handling wise, the C8 is a totally different machine

I’ll probably get downvoted for this but I don’t find the C7 to be a particularly inspiring car to drive.

Just sat in a vette at our local Chevy dealership today. Sticker 140,000. Dam it fit me like a glove. 401K might take a hit

My buddy picked up a '19 C7 ZO6 from Bryan Chevrolet. Bought it in 2021 for $75K. It sat on the showroom floor for 2 years, pretty much why he got such a good deal on it.
The RSP new was $130K.

You aren't wrong. For what they are they have too much understeer. The one time I tracked a C7 Z06 I cooked the front tires in 2 laps, by the end of three I had a soft brake pedal and before I finished the 5th lap it overheated.
On the street they feel rather soulless save for the engine note. They definitely were tuned for a demographic. It doesn't mean they aren't a fun car but with the prices of the Z06 and ZR1 staying high there are a lot of cars with more smiles per dollar out there.
That said, you and I are jaded by cars that can be abused on the track lap after lap and continue to do what they are supposed to do.

I don't particularly care for the base model C7 look. Some of the more aggressive models like the Z06 and ZR1 look pretty good. I've driven the C7 Stingray and Z06 versions. They were fun. I'd probably buy something different with the money, but they're respectable vehicles.
I think the C8 looks pretty good. I saw a ZR1 in the wild a little while back and it was pretty hot. Then I saw a C8.R at the track and was blown away.The side profile is the best angle.

C7 looks badass. I still think the C8 should have been a Cadillac instead, and continue making the traditional Corvette.

Those steel bumper C3 models were the best of that bunch. And those rally wheels one of the all time great GM designs.
