Barstool article : Dumars is destroying the franchise

Because we know what comes next right? The rebuilding and trading of assets. Does any Pelicans fan trust Dumars in that situation? Is he going to be able to get good value for Zion? Or Herb Jones? Or Trey Murphy? I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

He hasn’t hired Ham and firing Willie was his best move yet. I am in no way interested in defending this team or front office, but I can’t stand things like this. If it’s so bad, you don’t need to embellish.

Don't get me wrong, Dumars sucks and we knew he was going to suck. Griffin sucked before him. Willie is not a good coach and Gayle is a non-existent owner.
Zion deserves a HUGE portion of the blame for the space that we're in. Dude was supposed to be a perennial 1st Team All-NBA freak of nature. He was drawing Lebron comparisons heading into that draft. Had he lived up to those, admittedly hella lofty, standards it covers up a lot of a franchise's shortcomings, both on and off the court.
Zion turning into a worthless loaf of a basketball player destroyed this era of the franchise.
Zion deserves a HUGE portion of the blame for the space that we're in. Dude was supposed to be a perennial 1st Team All-NBA freak of nature. He was drawing Lebron comparisons heading into that draft. Had he lived up to those, admittedly hella lofty, standards it covers up a lot of a franchise's shortcomings, both on and off the court.
Zion turning into a worthless loaf of a basketball player destroyed this era of the franchise.

Every time I watch and we are getting blown out( most games) all I can think about is unprotected 1st. How can he defend that trade? Queen is a decent player but man we could have gotten a “ haul” for that pick. It’s going to be so disheartening on lottery night when we get the top overall pick just to give it to Atlanta … you know it’s coming p

I’m a firm believer that he was brought in to sell the franchise because no competent organization would make the moves the Pels have made.

Even before the draft I would have disagreed with this statement but with everything that has happened with this franchise since the draft is just next level dumbassary. I now believe there is some deal in place behind the scenes to move this team. Vegas & Seattle are the prime cities in the waiting. No decision that has been made since the draft except for firing Willie(2 years too late) has made any sense. Nothing. It really makes you wonder what is going on behind the scenes between the league & Pels ownership/leadership.

You had quite a few posters on here defending the moves before the season began. And said this was easily a playoff roster.
I knew it was going to end in a disaster when Willie green stayed the coach and you counting on Zion to stay healthy.

As bad as Dumars May be Fears and Queen May be better than anybody tbat Griffin drafted his entire time here.

I totally agree with this statement! Zion is just as guilty as Griff, Willie, Dumars, and Gayle. His lack of professionalism crippled the franchise for years. They’ve built teams around him and he’s never available. My only hope is that he comes back for a stretch and plays well enough to be drafted for draft picks. I will be excited to build a team around Queen and Fears. They’re young but at least they give a damn.

All you need to read is that he gave up two top 3 picks and you know that the writer just don't know shite.
Then you add the 'firing a coach a month into the season' and you are sure that this guy have no clue about who the Pels owner is.
And then to write about Darvin Ham like he is for sure the next coach....
Joe Dumars might indeed end up as a shitty GM, but so far the only bad action is the 'no protection' part and even that is not certain how it will end up.
We are in this situation because of Gayle, Griffin, Willie and Zion.
