LSU
Why are we a top spot in coaching?
What do we offer as opposed to what is collateral damage. I.e. expectations and the actual governor getting involved.

We have the fact that Louisiana produces some of the best athletes period.
That’s not enough. We need someone to lead us. Someone that will know what “we” expect.

We had our savior who we know as the true Cajun part in ed. He did the work and gave us possibly the best season ever but he struck lightning. Let’s be honest. It wasn’t sustainable like nick did. Where do we go from here?

Who do you see as our next leader? Grass eater? Cajun boy? Proven record coach? Up and coming new guy? Yea I didn’t mention our young guru who helped the burreaux experience.
But this is a person that reads a lot on this forum but doesn’t post much.
So do your worst regular negative posters. And give me some opinions from the rest of the lurkers who don’t post but who have an opinion.

We need to stop playing into Lane's antics. At this point, hire somebody else, enough of these childish games.

I think LSU offers as many resources as anyone else - Facilities, Staff, Salary, NIL, In State Talent, Tradition, etc.

Who is next head coach? No idea. Gut says Lane, but could be someone no one is talking about.

Part of our struggle is going to be the fact that we’re fighting for a very small pool of coaches with a million other schools who also have lots of resources and want to turn their programs around.

I don’t know anything though, just a fan

If this were true you’d know everyone here seems to be fixated on Lane and haven’t even thought of the other scenarios if he doesn’t come here.

Finebaum and others say UF and LSU are the best jobs out there.

If you put winning in football above all else... easily LSU over Florida. Not close. Ole Miss... GTFO.

If you start to factor in quality of life for family, school for kids, safety in Baton Rouge... it gets a lot more complicated fast.

Kiffin is self-centered so football is likely above all else. I'm leaning 70% toward LSU.

Baton Rouge has MANY first class schools, K-12. And, when one has money, it is a lovely place to live...many, many great neighborhoods and other amenities. Living in BR is a big plus.

It's much harder to say now than it was as recently as 6 years ago. Nil and the portal have changed the dynamics of recruiting and roster building to the extent that I'm really not sure LSU has the advantages that we used to.

If Lane ends up coming here under the assumptions of LSU being what it was in that regard, I'm not sure he's going to find it, at least to the extent it was.

Let me chime in. My self imposed ban is almost over but this topic is too good to pass up. Since 2000, LSU has went to the NCG a total of 4 times , winning 3, with 4 SEC titles. That's an average of being really good every 6 years. To say that LSU is a top job, is hardly that. It's not even close to Alabama, Ohio St, or essentially UGA, since Kirby arrived. So, in other words, the football program catches steam every 72 months, which is some of you knuckleheads pay for a car. Glad to be back. Great subject BTW.

We have won 3 NCs this century, all by different HCs. That is a testament to the possibilities at LSU.

Screw it. I’m going fishing every day until January. Hopefully we have a coach by then.

i remember when recruiting generated a ton of buzz like this coaching search.

We better have a solid backup plan.
