If you are committed to Ole Miss, you sign the contract with Ole Miss.

Words don’t mean shite.

Just not the way it works.

And anyone that would force the hand basically signs their death warrant. Who wants to work for someone who values loyalty over what might be best for someone else?

That is pretty obvious. People keep saying that he is saying all of these wonderful things about Ole Miss. He obviously likes it there. Maybe he is just trying to show how much he loves the place before he feels like he needs to go somewhere else to be more successful.

Hanny is wrong. There are reasons he wouldn't sign the contract. Let's think about this...

- Sexton is trying to squeeze every drop out of Ole Miss and using LSU and UF for leverage.
- Kiffin is trying to leverage this for the Ole Miss boosters to pony up more money for NIL.
- Kiffin is loving the idea of trolling 2 fan bases at the same time.
- All of the above.

His not signing the contract on his desk does not mean shite.

He’s still employed and under contract with Ole Miss. He cant publicly troll like people think or he risks opening up a claim for breach of his contractual duties.

If he was staying at Ole Miss. He would have signed the extension.

Hanny has more knowledge in his pinky than you do in your entire family tree

People forget that Sexton makes money too off of this shite. And Lane doesn’t give a frick about the public image. He signed with Sexton because he wants this too. Sexton has done this over and over and over again and yet everybody falls for it every single time. This is more likely to be a game.

I truly believe that most of you have never been involved in a contract negotiation.

Here’s actually how it works - committed people make commitments

If he won’t sign the contract because something else out there might be best for him (in your words) and he’s waiting, by definition he is not committed

This really isn’t hard

I deal with legal contracts all the time. However, they are time-sensitive.

I assume Ole Miss has left this one open, with no deadline to accept or reject?

My point was, if Lane really loves where he is and feels like he can accomplish the career goals he has set for himself in Oxford, then letting a contract sit on your desk for over a month (and counting) does not really support the words falling out of his mouth.

Not sure why that is so controversial.

Reasonable/unreasonable take, but assuming he is indeed staying at OM and to answer why he hasn’t signed yet…

He currently has the ability to stretch along two conference opponents as long as he pleases. There for impacting their recruiting.
Also, Sexton has no issue with this bc he will get Lane signed (Paid). Then step up with the next two best and get LSU amd FLA filled (paid again x2).
