Lane using LSU and UF as leverage

Is Lane just trolling at this point for his financial benefit or is he actually going to move on from Ole Miss?

Who knows is it even confirmed family visited both places?
Sames on brand for Lane if he got an ultimatum

Yes. I don't see him coming to LSU

You use other jobs as leverage for a better deal at your current place. Ole Miss already has a deal on the table to make him the highest paid coach in college football. He really going to go through all of this to get 14 instead of 13.7 million?

How the frick are we supposed to know?

Yes, it was heavily reported & confirmed - not just rumors.
I could see the ultimatum (if true) rubbing Lane the wrong way & accelerating his decision

It’s not trolling, it’s negotiating.
You don’t expect him to accept an offer from OM without finding his market value.
If you were selling your house and multiple buyers were interested, would you take the first offer without considering any others?

He very well could be and good strategy if get everything he wants at OM. But it will also be better for all teams sooner decision is made.

I’m curious if it’s being said because you think “LSU couldn’t possibly hire the hottest HC candidate” or “LSU is a poverty program and couldn’t afford him”. it’s obnoxious seeing how much fans sell our own program short. I hope it’s just a coping mechanism and yall just are prepping yourselves to not be let down.
I don't see him coming to LSU
Look at any one of a number of random media outlets pumping out articles on coaching searches. The vast majority of ones I’ve seen say LSU is the best opening.

Leverage for what? He’s already got an extension on his desk that I’m sure will make him the highest paid HC

I don't think it's leverage for more money for him. I think he's trying to use it to get more financial support in all the other areas (NIL, facilities, etc).

You don't have to visit to conference schools courting your interest for leverage.

Sometimes people seem to overthink things. Could he be using LSU for leverage absolutely. But he also could legitimately be interested and willing to come to LSU. He’s doing his homework and could take the job here.

Do you think a major LSU booster would send his private jet on a round trip to Oxford for his health? Do your research.
Posted on 11/18/25 at 9:01 am to HvacGoon
The only leverage he could be looking for is for NIL. If Ole Miss gave him an ultimatum then it means they know they cant match everything.
I fully expect lane to not be in Oxford next year but have no idea if he will be here or Gainesville.

He had leverage already. His agent was already letting OM know about it.
Something is up. What, I don’t know.

This is the biggest troll of his career. Y'all hold onto your butts.

Its not even necessarily about HIS price either. It could be NIL/Rev share related. Who will invest more.
