I really don’t like hiring Coaches who quit on their teams.

I know I’ll get crucified for this, but don’t Coaches always tell players they shouldn’t quit? Why is it good for Coaches to quit on their teams before the season ends? Kelly did the same thing to Notre Dame, and it sucked then, and it sucks now. Finish the season and then do what you want, but quitting on your team to go to a rival before the season is over is bad form, and is a sign of low character.

If that’s the way this goes down, it’s going to be a bad omen.

Bombs away!!!

Ole Miss gave him an ultimatum to decide… So he’s trying to decide. That ultimatum has to be done within a week or so. His hand was forced.

You'll like who we hire after the season then.

So you would rather hire someone who is unemployed which means they most likely got fired for being a bad coach. Got it.

What other option is there?

With the portal and ESD, you have to be in place as early as possible to make sure you don't waste your entire first season.

That’s a good point. I guess this is just the way it’s done. Still don’t like it, but them forcing his hand makes it easier to understand.

Football is a game you shouldn’t take it so personally, but whatever.

I think Kiffin has handled the optics of this extremely poorly from the standpoint of stringing Ole Miss along.

But also, if he wants another job, he has to vet these schools now. The way the portal is set up now, it behooves a school to have its new coach in place now.

Bud the way the season lines up there’s no time for a coach to wait if he plans on taking a new job. Gotta get there and get things lined up before the transfer portal opens

No. I’d rather hire someone who tells both sides that he will make a decision after the season is over.

I know reading is hard, but he clearly said “before the season ends.”

Signing Day and transfer portal should happen after the NC game. Open the portal the next day, signing day 5 days later.

Saban took the LSU job before MSU played their bowl game. Would you take back the next 25 years of LSU Football?

I understand what you are saying but the ncaa stupidity has forced coaches hands now
Kiffin has matured greatly since his last debacles…this situations are not the same

Saban quit on Michigan State to take the LSU job before their season was over in 1999.
