Karr submitted an appeal that would keep the Cougars competing in the same district it has won with outright district titles over the past four seasons.

Other New Orleans area appeals from the Jefferson Parish public schools along with Chalmette and Warren Easton also could impact the make-up of the tradition-bound Catholic League.

quote:

The appeal from Karr asked simply that the LHSAA keep Karr in 9-5A while Easton can remain with its new proposed district.

quote:

Chalmette asked that it join what would become a nine-team district that has six St. Tammany schools, plus two more from Tangipahoa Parish.

The LHSAA heard appeals from 31 administrators from across the state for about an hour and went into executive session immediately afterward.

The LHSAA will decide on those appeals in advance of the third and final classification meeting set for Dec. 3, at which administrators can make a final appeal for the next two-year districting cycle.

So question… do you think trying to get Karr out of the Catholic League and Chalmette in is something J.T. Curtis is behind?

It A. Makes Karr (and Warren Easton) less desirable by putting them in a district kids don’t want to play in, that the media barely covers, and makes JP less desirable by removing their chance to win a district championship among themselves (though there probably aren’t many serious football players in that district to begin with)

B. Makes Chalmette less desirable by putting us in a district we’d have trouble winning games in, stalling any momentum we’ve built the past few years

With that being said, you cant blame Shaw and Holy Cross on him though. Shaw needs tougher competition and HC needs wins, and both fumbled their chance this time around

Should be playing at that enrollment class, not up, but the new President is dead set against it.

Maybe just play where ever you are put and quit always trying to maneuver your way into a better record.

As a Ponchatoula alum, I'd be okay with us & Hammond moving to the Livingston/Ascension district for this. We're in that middle ground between LP/AP and St. Tammany as is.

Last week you said Karr wanted out of the Catholic league because of the league's policy on free student admission.

Today Karr made an appeal to stay in the Catholic League.

Your credibility is shaky.

I’m just wondering if there’s a disconnect between their administration and coaches… that national schedule is gonna take money lol

Yet they were out and appealed to get back in.

Admit you're not that much in the know and just have an opinion. That's ok too. We all have opinions.
