What is the 2021 Lincoln Riley story

I believe they have the same agent and each was sold to the highest bidder based on personal preference.

I remember a lot of people said his wife was really big into the daughters doing competitive dance or cheerleading. Many felt that actually helped steer him more that way. I wouldn’t think that would matter, but who knows.

Reportingly from stories that came out later, LSU got played. Scott wanted Jimbo first. Then Riley. Then he went scrambling for Kelly after striking out on those two.

I don’t know if the Jimbo stuff was just to help him get a bigger contract at aTm. But Woody made it clear to many people that he loved Jimbo. I know that for a fact. He was at least making it known he wanted Jimbo. Not sure if it was to help out Sexton and Jimbo or what. Because they’re all 3 buddies. But it happened.

I get this but what honestly is the point of the smokescreen? Like if they already know he's leaving why does it matter if it looks like he's going to one school but he's not?

I heard Kelly said no at first. Then Riley went to USC so LSU circled back to Kelly and they got him. That’s how the 10 year contract came about

I also think Jimbo would have been successful here. He had issues with admin and boosters at TAMU that got in the way and spoiled the applecart.
