They will leak eventually regardless of manufacturer. If spending that much, find a $250 pair you find comfortable then buy 3 pairs. Good luck too.

Gator Waders

They all leak. You can pay high dollar for some with repair policies but you’re going to need a backup pair.

Personally, I buy the cheapest ones on Rogers or Cabela’s or academy. They last long enough and patching with aquaseal is easy enough. I’ve never bothered with breathable. If you can get away with waste high waders it makes a big difference too.

Their waste wader look like exactly what I need. While our pond is technically shallow enough for hips, I encounter a mystery rut every year and have to make a controlled fall

I would never recommend a boot foot wader for fishing.

Bought a pair of Guide Weight Cabelas breatheable waders in late 90s that just started leaking in left foot this year. Think they were $300 20+ years ago.

I like my Gator Waders from what I can tell. Got them for $100 last year on midway. We will see how they hold up in the flooded briar I hunt.

I would look at dive bomb if you wanted a zipper. They have their older model waders for sub $500 in limited sizes.

Field Supply wader sale

I just got back into duck hunting this year after not having been in the last 5 years. My 17 year old pair of cabelas neoprene waders developed a small leak in the boot (boots starting to dry rot), around the ankle of all places and I’m looking to replace them. I’m not rough on waders, but I’d like to buy a cheap(er) pair since it sounds like most of the brands leak soon enough. Any thoughts on Roger’s (tough man 2n1 breathable) vs. Frog Toggs (grand refuge) vs. Tidewe (aquawade)? All are currently on sale and similarly priced. Mainly hunting buckbrush and cypress sloughs.

Rogers between those three. None of those are high quality but Rogers generally stands behind their products. I bought my a wife a pair of their waders and they’re fine. I wouldn’t spend money on a TideWe product. Low quality to begin with but super inconsistent. One of the guys in my lease had the threads on the wader straps pull out after like half the first split.

The frog togg and Roger’s look like the same manufacturer. I’ve seen both in person.
