Was looking for something to watch and gave this a shot. So far it’s pretty good. Well made etc

Claire Foy is great. She's one of the best to ever do it IMO.

They obviously take plenty of creative liberties, but nevertheless it's very well done and brilliantly acted. It focuses just as much on the internal dynamics of the royals as a family as it does on actual historical events. Claire Foy is particularly excellent as Princess/Queen Elizabeth, as are Josh O'Connor and Erin Doherty as the young Prince Charles and Princess Anne.

Rewatching it right now and just started season 2. It’s a great show. I forgot how much of a whiney bitch Phillip is

One of the best shows out there

She dies at the end.

The early seasons were definitely the best. I thought the Diana stuff was pretty boring.

Actually she doesn't. The final season ends when she is 79 years old.

First 2-3 seasons are fantastic. I didn’t care toward the end, but that’s more because I don’t care about Charles/Diana. But, the early seasons were riveting.

quote:I agree, the origin story is the most interesting and the series gets progressively less interesting as time goes on. It might just be a function of being less familiar with the early part of the story hence it's more interesting.

There's a good bit of character development throughout the show that turns him from one of the least likeable characters to probably the most likeable one. Tobias Menzies and Johnathan Pryce do an excellent job in later seasons. There's an episode in season 3 where the character takes a big step and it's pretty exceptionally well done. Keep watching.

I cannot agree more. It’s worth watching to just see her talent. She has this ability to convey emotion with her whole face but in subtle movements. It’s astounding. Her accent, her demeanor. She embodied the Queen. Absolute perfection.
