From Wiki:

In November 2013, Dorsett announced he had signs of chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a brain disease found in many former football players, boxers, and hockey players.[26] Dorsett specifically referred to memory loss and unexplained rage as major symptoms affecting him in retirement

Tony has CTE; he’s been living with it for over 10 years. He was unstoppable back in his prime. Glad he made it to the game with his family…..

Yeah, the beatings some of these former athletes took in their careers can often come back to haunt them.

I can think of quite a few great boxers who have had a very hard time with life after their careers ended.

I've seen a few stories hit the news about B. J. Penn, a former UFC great who's finding himself in trouble with the law due to his violent behavior with much of it aimed at his family members. Those fighters are going 5 minute rounds and using 4 oz. gloves, which isn't much in the way of padding.

Gotcha, I think cte can lead to dementia as well. Either way it’s very sad. Wish him the best.

I spoke to him for awhile at the Heisman in 2023 (Daniels) and he seemed like he was having a good night. His wife is from Lake Charles and a super nice lady...and you could tell she was used to being on top of things if they went south.

Definitely sad, truly one of my favorites of all time.
