Baton Rouge is broke and they are handing out tax breaks for something that will probably wind up costing it more than it gave in tax breaks.
If BR can’t steal from the Library Tax (e.g. ‘Thrive’) it’s going to ‘Starve’ and cut something like 40% of its budget.

Imo, this is a test run designed to take the heat off of the plan to send tax rebate $ to the new LSU Arena owners.

Same questions I asked when bidding on EBR DPW contracts. Why not a vendor in the parish that will be paying taxes back to EBR? If the bids are close it should be automatic.
