If so, why?

Had to wait until the heat died down and the statute of limitations expired.

Moved in 2013. Just wanted to try living somewhere else after college.

Graduated college and landed a job in Houston, then moved to DFW later.
I’m about ready to move back to the simple life, too many people from all over the world have infiltrated Texas.

Opportunity, especially for my kids. Louisiana is still light years behind in so many areas.
I also don’t like the mindset of the people where I was at so I didn’t want my kids growing up in that environment.

Born and raised in BR (Prairieville), moved to Pensacola immediately after graduating from LSU. Wife and I have been here 8 years with no intention of moving back. No big reason for leaving other than wanting to experience something different than the place we grew up, which I believe everyone should do at some point in their life.

I spent my first 36 years in Louisiana. Took me about 10 years to convince my wife to move, and we finally did a year and a half ago. I was tired of living in a state that was 50th in everything. Moved to be near the outdoor things I love (snowboarding, hiking, etc) and a better overall life for my family.

I left for school 25 years ago.
A few years in I realized my quality of life surroundings were better. I had a steady flow of women. I enjoyed the seasons.
I eventually settled down a made a great family with a Midwest lady.
Sometimes people from Louisiana overplay their Louisiana-ness. It’s cute from afar, but over all, it can be eye-roll corny.
Having said all that…
Geaux Tigers!
Go Saints!

I’m the opposite. I grew up somewhere else but moved to Louisiana. I just have bad taste.

I think you nailed it with that, may I use that?

I moved away for college and never went back. Spent a few years in DC, a few overseas, then all over the south until I landed in FL for the last 8 years.
Never really had desire to stay in Louisiana, not a ton of opportunity for growth unless you're in the O+G industry. Wanted to get out and experience other things. Florida allows me to be close enough to home but still have the beach and no state income tax

I like living in the city. Louisiana's larger cities suck arse.

DA told me to leave town after cleaning up a mess for me. He said I was heading to prison if I stayed. I left town/state at 18 years old with $140.00 to my name, that day.
That was in 1986 & was the best thing ever for me from a legal standpoint. I've never been on probation or to jail.

Texas always seemed more appealing to me whenever we traveled there to watch the Tigers play football or baseball.
Got an opportunity to move there and did it.

Nice job opportunity in Chicago. Saw the state of Louisiana declining.
