The contract says neither party can negotiate until this agreement has ended.

There probably won't be an announcement until the Sunday/Monday after the OU game at the earliest. Just expect to be in limbo until then.

They didn’t even have any organization around hiring a coach until late last week. They are nowhere near hiring anyone.

Why can’t the new head coach be announced during the season? I’ve never heard of any rules on the matter.

Probably is limiting it as potential agents see that their clients could end up getting the shaft financially on any buyouts
