wasnt offered by LSU. kid is a stud but what LSU is building is kind of just dumb. He is a 2026 kid and LSU wasnt going to take but 1-2 in state. They took the lefty pitcher from WM. The states top ranked player by a long ways is even going to OU.

In the past, his bloodline would have gotten him an offer. LSU only recruits the best of the best now.

I’ve watched him and like him. He has some upside

lol yea sorry....meaning LSU is recruiting from this insanely small pool of kids and really only competing with 2-3 other schools in the process. its just gotten stupid how good the classes are

Under Paul, Miller and a couple others from the class would be going to LSU...now, not so much.

Jay is a really good recruiter. Whether he will ever win anything of significance remains to be seen. Have to wait and see how the season plays out

In state kids don’t matter anymore. They can fund 34 scholarships and don’t need TOPS to fund a few in state kids. That’s why we only took 1 in state kid. LSU can now go find the best kids across the country and offer full ride and NIL.

In state kids still matter. They’re just not going to take a kid that shouldn’t be here just because they’re in state.

ftr miller prolly could have gotten a little bigger ACC offer of an offer from a lower level SEC school. but if you dont show interest in being 8-10 hours from home...they are not going to pursue you unless someone on staff has ties to that area.

Im not sayin he would have gotten a clemson, fsu, ga tech or unc offer but he could have prolly gotten higher than baylor if he wanted to go further away from home. Also grades play a big part.

also the comment above about being able to fund 34 scholarships...that is true, they have the ability to do that but in practice very very few of even the big schools are doing that. With rev share coming too, i think you see more of a return to more in state kids starting in about 2-3 recruiting cycles. 2027 has multiple LA kids and like Project said...in state still matters, but Jay is not going to really take a kid anymore that he doesnt feel can play by soph year now. That is 1 bad thing about the 34 limit, no more projects that redshirt and dont see the field until RS Junior year. They would rather that kid goto juco and come in a year or two.
