Lets focus on what we know for a fact.

We know that Kiffin had interest in LSU during the last cycle.
We know Kiffin has been vocal about LSUs perceived advantage with night games and scheduling overall. Ratings dont lie.
We know that even with NIL, LSU has state of the art facilities that far exceed everyone not named Bama, and has frontlined technological advancements in many areas , much like the tools JD utilized to improve drastically.
Using what we know, and not what "insiders" say, you should expect Lane Kiffin to coach here. The disarray of the LSU situation is grossly overplayed and overblown.
The fact Lane had any interest at all before tells you we are his frontrunner should he leave. Hes taken little nicks and jabs at us since that last cycle.
We know Ole Miss wont win the playoff. They may even get knocked off in round 1. They struggled with LSU at home, among many other things.
Hes made comments about the cost of LSUs players , the stadium size, the scheduling. Dude WANTS to be here. LSU got serious for five seconds and attacked the portal better than anyone in the country.
So using knowledge that is readily available and proven to be true.. it will be Lane.

How do we know this? Can you cite this?
ETA: and I think we need better evidence than Lady Moscona saying this.

Its been noted among a few Ole Miss sites by more than one person. Theyre supposed to pump Ole Miss and that does the opposite. The fact that even they admit this is telling.

"LSU has state of the art facilities that far exceed everyone not named Bama"
As much as we want this to be true, I just dont think it is. Yes we have great facilities but so do at least the top half of the SEC.

From the report I read on a Rebel message Board, Kiffin said in this day in age, the ONLY one of those metrics that he cares about his NIL payout to players which I believe LSU led and Ole Miss was #13. He said that facilities and all of that is great but NIL payouts is where this game is currently. SEC top 10 last season were as follows:
Rank
School
Estimated NIL/collective amount*
1
LSU Tigers (LSU)
~$20,137,141
2
Georgia Bulldogs
~$18,326,566
3
Texas A&M Aggies
~$17,228,714
4
Alabama Crimson Tide
~$15,995,406
5
Florida Gators
~$15,802,237
6
Oklahoma Sooners†
~$14,817,595
7
Tennessee Volunteers
~$11,602,164
8
Auburn Tigers
~$11,588,953
9
Arkansas Razorbacks
~$11,544,039

The only things known are that Brian Kelly is no longer coach at LSU and Frank Wilson is his interim replacement. We also know that Kelly is filing suit against LSU
Scott Woodward in no longer AD at LSU.. Verge Ausberry is his replacement.
We know Lane is the coach at Ole Miss and is having a very good season.
Other than that, everything else amounts to wild speculation from faux insiders.....and desperate wishcasters.

We know that there are better options out there.
We know our administration is too lazy to look

What we know about Kiffin is this...
1) He consistently has an offense in the Top 20, more often Top 10 and can sniff the Top 5. He has done this with less talent (depth) than at least 15 other schools as evidenced by 247 Talent Composite.
2)His stop at Ole Miss is far better than his previous Head Coaching gigs. He is trending up.
3)He seems to have matured some, but still takes some wacky chances that one would hope is because he knows there is a talent disparity against some teams and he needs to roll the dice.
4)His defenses don't play at the level of his offenses.
5)He has done all of this at Ole Miss that will never have the overall depth that you see at Georgia, Bama, Ohio State, LSU, Florida, Texas, Oregon...
6)He hasn't gotten over the hump at Ole Miss. The question that NO ONE knows the answer to is why. Is it his coaching, or is it the fact that he has never had a roster with as much talent (depth) as the teams listed above?
7)Timing....They should make the playoffs and there is a good chance they win the first game. That would have him still playing when the portal opens. How can LSU wait that long when the entire world will know our target and Kiffin would be facing heat from his own fan base in the middle of a playoff run. The Kiffin of old would bolt in a minute. The one today is not likely to do that.
****What we don't know, but is speculated, is whether he wants to leave Ole Miss and if LSU is where he would want to be.
I believe he would kill it here at LSU. The talent depth he could accumulate with the LSU Brand and recruiting advantages would far surpass what he can do overall at Ole Miss. Yes, he can get some great players at Ole Miss, but he would get much more at LSU. You need depth to win a championship. LSU offers a much better chance has history has shown at building a championship roster.
He knows this. LSU knows this.
Is he content with an occasional playoff birth or does he want to join the ranks of coaches that have a Natty? Does timing work out?

I would say Texas Tech did a much better job with their portal class. We did hit on a few players but not to the level that TTU achieved.

His defenses are not the best. But if you are scoring 40+ points a game, an average defense can work…see LSU 2019.

Far better than Texas or Texas A&M?

Neither of the above is proven to be anything.

it will be Lane.
But that is still a reasonable possibility. I hesitate to say Likely about any coaching search, particularly when it involves LSU.
