Why is this so much messier than when A&M fired Jimbo?

They fired him the Sunday after a win. He got his $73M. There was no bad mouthing. Both parties said they wished it could have gone better afterwards.

Because LSU is being run by a bunch of circus performers and the Cajun Clown is the ringleader.

Because Kelly's contract calls for payments to be made over the remaining life of the contract not a lump sum and jimbos contract did not include mitigation language.

This isnt really all that messy, its two parties posturing before setting up a final negotiation. A&m did not have any ability to posture based on jimbos contract so they had to eat the buyout

Because they didn’t have cause not to pay Jimbo. LSU clearly has cause that will result in a lower buyout. Kelly messed up really bad, like worse than anyone ever has in coaching.

It wasn't as nationally broadcast but you don't follow A&M that closely

There were politicians in Texas and people at A&M that made public statements about spending that much money to fire their coach

Also they had a fan revolt when they were about to hire Mark Stoops

None of this is LSU’s money. Some people really have no concept of big money and how it works and changes hands. If you have 20 million to contribute to a buyout of a football coach, you have more money than you know what to do with. You don’t just give 20 million because you have 21. We’re talking people with substantial, generational wealth. The athletic department is not on the hook for a dime of this travesty. All this did was make ~4 donors (and I’m not talking ppl who have to pay TAF fees and say they’re a booster) even more major in the scheme of things and gives them a leg up on “having input” bc they got us out this mess.

So no, it’s not because we’re broke that this is a shitshow and unable to be handled properly. It’s because of our inept politicians, starting with the coonarse midget.

.......and some booster backing out of an agreement, so the money is not in place. So Landry is worried that the state will be holding the bag ultimately.

Consider the states that each took place in.

Texas outclasses that shithole Louisiana in every facet of life.

Does this question really need to be asked?

The Texas governor didn’t step in and become the face of A&M for a week.
