Still too early to assume anything but here are my thoughts.

Protected the ball, only 7 turnovers, maybe the most impressive thing about tonight. Got to the free throw line a ton, this is what good teams do. McKinnon had a rough one others picked up the slack, it’s gonna happen some games so not too big of a deal. Also, it really important that we stepped on the throats of these clowns and blew them out, treated this game as a buisness trip and took out the trash.

Great game tonight, yeah it’s early, our best test in about to come up, keep improving, !and let’s enjoy the win

Oh I’m not gonna go thru each individual cause everyone was pretty solid. But I will not that I really like when Reed went strong and over his defender in the paint rather than under and finesse.

Basketball fans and have been asking coach to show us things are gonna be different, and rightfully so,tonight was a step in that direction.

LSU didn't shoot great tonight, but dominated the boards 51-34, and like you said, got the FT line a lot.

Agreed, and anyone whose ever played basketball knows when your not shooting great, get to the foul line.

Sucks we're going have to wait until December to get a true litmus test.

21-7 assists to turnovers is great!

Sutton and DJ may be the best players that Coach M has had at LSU. Our front court looks strong with Reed, Miller, Nwoko and Tamba. They are doing a good job on the boards and protecting the paint. The question is going to be guard play outside of DJ. Reece seems like he will be good, and even though he seems better than Givens did, I don't think he's ready for huge minutes. Max looked poor today, but while I think he's better than he looked today, will that be good enough. I need to see more of Carter and King. Zipper and Mosley are buried on the depth chart, so I assume they aren't going to help. It'll probably have to be Max and Reece, and either Carter or King.

One of the biggest surprises so far is the defense. They are switching and helping a lot and doing it well.

After tonight I only see 3 guaranteed positions, Thomas, nwoko, and Sutton. I’m sure McKinnon just had an off night. However Reed and miller will eventually shake the rust off. Reece is playing against Thomas everyday, he will improve, he has to. So I’m worried about dead scoring frames something CMM has always been susceptible to.

I’m worried they look a little slow, but might be playing to competition. Will be interesting to see how they handle fast paced transitional teams.

nwoko is a stronger and more reliable finisher than we have had in a while.

summit league POTY Sutton was all over the court.

Israeli zipper came in late and put up a bagel, looked like a bit of a klutz

The most impressive thing about the win tonight was improving on the things they struggled with in the first game. Still some work to do on defense and rebounding, but much, much better. Dare I say good coaching and players buying in.

Biggest thing for this team is going to be post play against SEC bigs. Last year they got absolutely murdered in the paint in league play.

KJ Williams is still that guy. He was an All SEC player on a truly bad team. Sutton has been really good. But it’s been against very low level competition. Too early to call him “the best” right now

Mackinnon needs to come off the bench. King has had back to back games playing less minutes and contributing in every aspect. Mackinnon is a great shooter, but that is now known and he will barely get an open look again. He can’t play D (don’t let hollow steals from loose balls fool you) or create much. Would rather MacKinnon be a sharpshooter off the bench

The 4 position should be rotated depending on opponent. Idc who starts, just minutes player. As the year goes on and Reed gets more comfortable, I hope he steps up and becomes the guy he was prior to being injured. PJ Carter can shoot but we really have a clear top 9 and McMahon’s job depends on how he manages those minutes in game.

1. Only 7 turnovers was impressive. This team seems to handle the ball better than our previous three teams. At least so far.

2. We improved from G1 to G2. Effective coaching.

3. Crowd was so lethargic and sparse, it is really disheartening.

4. Dr. Rousse made a brief appearance.

That’s a really good number

TBD. This was the first game (including the game vs UCF) where they didn’t struggle with TOs

That’s something different from the previous 3 seasons

That’s the result of the prior 3 seasons. Apathy has set in. You have to give the casual fans a reason to be interested. Particularly on a week-night in November/December

UNO finished 343 in the NET last season. We were the worst SEC team at 88. We don't get anything from playing teams that are this awful.

We finally have a pg and that alone will win us a few games. McKinnon is a situational player and will struggle in the sec. Adding Mwoko was huge. He gives us a presence inside to go with Reed and Miller. Sutton is a good veteran player who will be solid on both ends. Tamba is the guy who has surprised me the most. I thought he was an end of the bench type guy. He is athletic and aggressive on both ends. He isn’t looking for shots he just goes out and plays hard. If King can settle in at the 2 we could get to 8 or 9 wins in the sec.

Anyone know why we have never seen Gilhool play? I’m gonna assume cause we have an abundance of depth at PF? He’s a really good player and it would suck to loose him to the portal, really hope he stays. I watched him in high school when they were on TV and he impressed me.

McMahon said he needs to get stronger. Probably redshirting.
