What to do with Edna Karr?

Thus deserves a seperate thread.
Karr has become the new Curtis / Evangel. You can’t drop them to their enrollment true spot as that is 5A. They are already select.
They don’t want to be in the Catholic league anymore because they want to charge students to attend games. (Can the LHSAA ban the free student admissions?)
I’m sure the remainder of the district won’t be too sad to see them go
But where do you put them? The JP league is not a good fit.
This would not be good for Chalmette, but I would have a district of
Slidell
Northshore
Fontainebleau
Chalmette
Karr
Warren Easton

A Westbank team in a district with a Mandeville school makes no sense.

the Catholic Karr matchup will happen way too early in playoffs

It’s NOLA… travel isn’t really an issue
But Fontainebleau doesn’t have to be in that district if they don’t want to
Karr is one bad football game a year, but at least it’ll help everyone’s power points
What people are really worried about is that Warren Easton becomes what they were again… they were 0-14 in the Catholic League but it was a very competitive 0-14.

Ridiculous to charge Karr's students to attend their own home games.

Can they be forced to stay where they are? I mean people are going to be upset one way or the other.

Is that a new orleans thing?
Catholic charges their own students to go to games.

From what I’ve understood when you appeal to move districts, there has to be a unanimous vote from the district to let you leave, and unanimous from another district to except said team into a new district.

That's a Catholic League thing... only 9-5A schools do that

I was at a NOLA Catholic school in the early eighties, we were not charged for any sports games, not just football.

That’s a pretty big bar to clear… I always thought the appeals process was meant to tell them to redraw the districts with everyone’s suggestions. They have a second meeting next week and a third after thanksgiving if needed

When I was at Brother Martin the only games I can remember having to purchase tickets for were the state championship basketball games at the Cajun dome.
Maybe playoff football games but I honestly can’t remember.

It's a Catholic League bylaw. Students get in free with school ID. Also split gate. Karr feels they're losing revenue this route. But I don't think Karr is running from the CL, LHSAA makes these proposals.
They also proposed Chalmette to the CL so the OP doesn't have to worry about Karr. These will all be appealed this week and nothing will change. Even though I believe Warren Easton needs to go, they're not competitive in any sport. Which is also why Karr struggles too, football is only one sport. CL schools roll over them in nearly everything else.

I could be wrong but that’s what I heard

Karr was in the same district as Bogalusa and Salem at one point.

Has St Paul’s ever expressed interest in joining the Catholic League?

We’d rather have one game of Karr than 6 in the Catholic League

That sounds about right with Catholic...
Parents pay enough for tuition, you'd think they'd let their students in free like the NO area schools...
CL schools make plenty money from non-students going to the games. I know many Rummel alumni who have season tickets.

I don't know, but I always thought it was odd they weren't in it...
