First video since his good bye video 5 months ago. Comments turned off.

Guessing he’s doing it for his boys & as a way to document their adventures.

No he’s releasing 3 videos between now and the next few weeks that he had recorded but didn’t finish editing before he announced he was done. He’s still “retired” but I’m sure we will see him a couple of times a year going forward

Seems like really cool stuff to do for people with no bills.

Also, seems dangerous due to bears.

He had the catfish and carp channel b4 outdoor boys

My guess is the outdoor boys was intense and a heavy lift for him.

IMO hell be back making content again in some form.

He grew up in Alaska, so he's well aware of bears. He moved to Japan at 18 to be a missionary, came back, went to law school, and owned one of the biggest DUI law firms in Virginia while he grew his YT channel. Dude is an incredible man, and young boys and teenagers alike look at him as a role model.

My boys and I watch him every night before bed. It's good, wholesome content.

He's helping his son build his outdoors YouTube channel. I think it's called outdoor Tom. He's on there a good bit.

These are unfinished videos he's releasing.

He doesnt need any money. Go look up the Google payouts on views and then go look at the viewership he's got on his vids.

I read that he’s a lawyer with his own firm. Don’t think he needs the money

He definitely was a lawyer at some point, but his story is that he quit when his Catfish and Carp channel got so big he could just do that as a career. Then Outdoor Boys made him blow up. To your point, he could still own a firm though.

That is one thing about content creation, you are always needing to make new content. You can’t always live on the pay of yesterday’s content.

It is almost as bad as doing p0rn.

Also, you are at the mercy of YouTube’s algorithm, you say something bad or off, or use the wrong content, you can get demonetized or deplatformed.

Then you have the cost of content creation. Some YouTubers get into a trap of confidence with a hit video and think they can hire videographers and editors to churn out content, but if views don’t materialize then you are back to a solo act.

His net worth is up to $9M.

It seemed largely his wife not liking it and him not wanting to rock the marital boat

Not explicit but definitely picked up the vibe

I've thought that content creation can't possibly be a career choice. To crank out enough content to make serious money and stay popular for year upon year would be draining.

I just did a quick ballpark. While it doesn’t correlate to net worth, he’s earned up to 30 million from just YouTube. So says Grok. He has nearly 4 billion YouTube views across his channels.
