Always seemed overrated to me as a coach. He’s a guy who was good at one thing, recruiting and that isn’t as important anymore.

Because he's a good speaker and sounds like a preacher and people always buy that shite.

You will get downvoted from morons but you are not wrong. He made his mark as a recruiter aka “bagman” but now that payments to players aren’t taboo, he is just another Joe Football Coach

And not a very good one if we're judging by our RB development.

Because he’s a fantastic recruiter and that is the lifeblood of college football. He’s earned his reputation.

Your right there isn’t a LSU COACH that was liked by everybody. They even wanted NS fired at one time.We hate coaches here.Frank has been a great Tiger brought in many super players loves LSU , so yea why like him.

The people who hate on Frank don’t have a clue what they’re talking about. The offensive problems on this team start and end with the OL. No RB or QB would have success behind this group. Frank is as important to LSU football over the last 15 years as any coach.

He's a westbanker(really where most NOLA football recruits come from regarldess of where they go to school.

He has straightened out a lot of kids that because of their home life could easily gone awry.

He's related to Ike Wilson and Holly Wilson, probably what made him like that.

He can relate to the psyche of the vast majority of today's d1 athletes better than most coaches.

He’s a great recruiter and a great person, a great role model for the young men.

With all due respect, though, he can’t coach a lick. Anyone who believes differently is in denial.

I don’t think he’s a great coach but there is a role for guys like him in the staff

He recruits well, players like and respect him. He has connections all over the state

He does have value. But you can’t have a staff full of guys like him. No way you should have a Frank Wilson AND a Brad Davis on staff

It was always said that Frank does not lose a New Orleans kid he wants. Then Jahkeem Stewart went to USC. I’m not saying he’s not a good recruiter, but with NIL he’s not the surefire closer he once was.

It is still extremely important. And its not like he doesn't do something similar in the portal. The money is just more important and above the table now.

And I don't think he is revered at all. He seems to be a likable, solid choice for a staff position who was the right choice to fill the interim role.

Anyone telling you he has/had a shot at being a HC is delusional. Delusion fueled by the Orgeron hiring which was a totally different situation at the time and still a very controversial, one-off hire.

Kaleb Jackson looked good as a freshman, then regressed. Caden Durham looked good as a freshman, then regressed. Harlem Berry looks good as a freshman.......
