We have to win another game to even get an invite.

normally I would agree, but isn't this team largely out of eligibility anyway?

How long have you been watching D1 ball? Are you stupid asf? You win 6 games you go to a bowl.

@ Oklahoma

Western Kentucky is 7-2, 5-7 isn’t an impossibility

With an interim head coach currently it definitely makes sense to opt out and focus on next year

Will we even have enough players to compete in one? If they're waiting until January to make a hire, we'll be lucky to have 39 scholarship players left wth the portal being open and the pre-bowl opt-outs

Because the coach was fired during the season, the portal for our guys is actually opened. You have a bunch of young and talented players, a bowl game keeps them engaged and out of the portal.

No bowl game means you're opening your roster up to unnecessary threats of poaching. Now, in my heart of hearts, I only feel like we have a guy or two who are absolutely must keeps, but I don't want us to go through the mass exodus, only to have to have a mass influx of kids on the team.

This is where AT and his crew shows if this model works or not.

Wrong, most of these players will stay for the new regime.

Who would even think this weak kneed team belongs at any kind of bowl?

Truly cleaning the whole house at LSU means (to me) that we empty the cupboards and let go of all who are not here to play football for LSU and with the LSU team. Starting completely over is how to begin changing the BK era bad attitude culture back to the Geaux Tigers football culture that was once our trademark as a team.

Arkansas would normally be considered winnable as they're 2-7 and 0-5, but we're dealing with strange times at LSU, and a New Normal

I don't think so. Member a 6-6 team in 2021 with a 30-scholarship roster played a bowl game. The situation this year isn't that dire, except we haven't won the all-elusive sixth game yet

The SEC may demand LSU accept a bowl invitation.

Practice what?
What we be the point of extra practice with coaches who aren't going to be here next year?

That would be the only benefit and most of the good players will opt out and a lot will portal out unless they announce the new coach early which isn’t likely if they want Lane
