Update in regards to the coaching search

Talked with someone this morning and the idea is still Kiffin.
Saban smoke was real for a minute but Miss Terry was not as on board. Supposedly Saban listened and did not say immediately no when inquired. Do not believe he was officially offered though. But LSU was willing to break bank for him if possible. Boosters are as strong as I’ve seen and heard behind the scenes. Lots of money will be put into this program no matter who the coach will be.
Anyways, it’s Kiffins job right now this second. An offer is out there, and Kiffin has yet to turn down. A lot of people are confident that they can pull this off. Time will tell
Dillingham as I have mentioned has been a target heavily considered as well.
Asked about Marcus Freeman and the answer I got was that he had burned some bridges with some people at LSU after the way things went about with BK and getting him to come along. Verge and him are real real tight though, but I do not believe the boosters would sign off from what I have gathered from that conversation.
There’s your update as I have it

So, we don’t have a coach lined up and could end up with a choice way down the line like we did with Miles, Orgeron, and Kelly.

So no Saban, we can come back down to Earth a little bit and talk about the realistic candidates again.
Kiffin and Dillingham are both home runs. Young, energetic, offensive wizards. Both could and would win big at LSU.
LSU isn’t hiring, Sumrall, Golesh, or Eric Morris. You don’t buyout Kelly for 54 million, and inject millions into the football program, to get a group of 5 guy.
I don’t want Freeman. I don’t want Key. Lanning will be the whale, that doesn’t happen.
Joe Brady and Kelvin Sheppard won’t happen.
Nearing 2 weeks after the Kelly firing, numerous names have been thrown around, come and gone.
As of today I think it’s
1. Kiffin
2. Dillingham
3. Brohm
and yes Dillingham and Brohm would leave their Alma maters for a place like LSU.

Miles and Orgeron won National Titles. Most of the time when these firings happen, there isn’t anything locked down yet. Just inquiries that have been made.
LSU could land any of Kiffin, Dillingham, and Brohm and all would be great hires. I still think Clark Lea is a possibility too.

The first and only question needs to be, how motivated is the coach to succeed without previous national success. Some have won titles, some are set for life. Who has a gas and edge to prove everybody wrong?

All of that sounds plausible

I just don't understand why he's even a top 3 candidate. I'd rather go with someone like Dillingham, Brohm, or even Golesh. I think they'd be hungrier and feel they have more to prove, and hungry is what we need after four years of apathy. Marcus Freeman will not bring fans back to Tiger Stadium, and we'd have to spend more money to get him. No thanks. Do not want.

I been keeping receipts on X. If we pull Kiffin on the heels of one of the most dysfunctional starts to a coaching search in the history of college football, I will have some serious shite talking to do to some really arrogant fricks on that app.

Exactly. The fire in the belly. To be honest, it’s hard to find that person without guaranteed massive money and/or having won big titles previously.

I personally like Brohm. I think he’s solid.
However, have not heard his name much in regards to this search so far. Still early, but I think you can feel pretty confidently about scratching his name off.

My Auburn buddies feel that they're gonna get Brohm. I'm worried that Kiffin is going to string us along and then end up either staying at Ole Miss or going to Florida. Isn't Arky targeting either the SMU or Memphis coaches?

So it really is Saban!! Welcome home buddy

Based on your info seems kiffin and dilly are the clear cut top targets

Man fans need to drop this mentality. I will continue to say that Kelly had as good as a resume as you can get in 21 and didn’t pan out. You interview every type of candidate. Your type of thinking would’ve costed Tenn Josh heupal, would’ve costed Florida urban Meyer who was at bowling green

I honestly like all the coaches that have been talked about recently. The only 2 I don't want are Franklin or Freeman.

Good stuff. Thanks for posting.
My only concern would be the cases on if Kiffin and Dillingham either say no, stay put or go elsewhere.
Is there a solid (non G5) second tier?
Please tell me that we won’t just promote Frank. That might be my biggest worry in this whole thing.
