The iconic and beloved Farmers’ Almanac, a guide to living in harmony with nature’s rhythm that has been published for two centuries, has reached its final season.
The Lewiston, Maine-based company that produces the Almanac announced Thursday that the 2026 edition would be its last after it began publishing annually back in 1818.

My wife loves the almanac. Years ago, she read there was gonna be three snow falls. The almanac was on point.

My parents and grandparents always had the new addition. In the 60's and 70's it was on a lot of coffee tables.

Almanac has nailed it for years. If memory serves it predicted Katrina in 2005

Well now we are never going to know the weather forecast. I definitely don’t trust those idiots on tv.

Meanwhile….
quote:
No, the Farmers' Almanac did not specifically predict Hurricane Katrina, but a representative stated that their forecast was "pretty darn close" because it predicted a "hurricane threat in the Gulf Coast come September 10" two years in advance. While the forecast wasn't exact in its date or intensity, it did correctly indicate a hurricane threat for that region around that time.
So the almanac predicted a Gulf Coast hurricane during the peak of hurricane season for all years and was 12 days off?
Yea they really “nailed” that forecast

this is different than "The OLD Farmers Almanac" which will still be made.

You may have heard The Farmer’s Almanac, based out of Lewiston, ME, is ceasing publication after an incredible 200+ year run.
Over the years, there has been some confusion between our two almanacs, so to be clear: The OLD Farmer’s Almanac isn’t going anywhere. As we have since 1792, we will continue to publish our annual edition, while educating and entertaining readers online at Almanac.com.
Rest assured, as sure as the Sun will rise, The Old Farmer’s Almanac—with our familiar yellow cover and 80 percent accurate weather forecasts—will be around for generations to come.

Glad I picked up a copy at Tractor Supply the other day. I miss having real pages to hold rather than endless scrolling and clicking on a browser.

A dictionary might have been a welcomed addition for your family.

Don't use the shiny pages! They don't clean very well and they're prone to giving you paper cuts in some very unpleasant places!
