It’s one game against a bad team but I like what I see, much more talented, more size, shooting and athleticism. We rarely imposed our will on anybody the last three seasons.

TCU beat Tarleton State by 34 then lost to UNO

It coincides with more investment in the roster. Last year's team was nowhere near talented enough

Tarleton State isn't an SEC team, but they're pretty good within their own realm.

You forgot to add the bad . LSU got whipped on the offensive boards . They allowed 12 . LSU also turned the ball over 15 times . We shall see but I wasn’t impressed . Let’s see how they do against real competition

Let’s hold judgement until we play some legitimate teams
That said, we did what we were supposed to do tonight which is good

This team should be better than last year's. Although that's not saying much. They were picked to finish second to last in SEC for a reason. But hopefully they can overachieve and surprise some people. Will be difficult to really gauge them until they play real competition.

Wrong, they played SMU, not TCU.

They won the WAC last year. Louisiana Tech's old conference.

They played TCU in an exhibition...

Or finished 6th (of 9 teams) with a 12-20 record. Either way

They played Tarleton for their exhibition. Which doesn’t mean as much as a regular season game.
Tarleton is a southland level team in probably the bottom 20% of D1 basketball.

Preseason rankings are meaningless. Look at college football. Basketball teams have 70% turnover now, it is impossible to predict teams. LSU brought in a couple good recruits and have a top 20 recruiting class. There is 0 reason we should have been picked 15th but it just is what it is.

Where would you have ranked them? Over who?

I guess other than the fact they’ve finished last/2nd to last in 2 of McMahon’s 3 seasons I agree

LSU shot 70% from the floor. There were NOT many o rebound opportunities for LSU.

12-20 is not pretty good in any realm.
Glad the Tigers won and dominated, but Tarleton St. is about as good as they sound. Take nothing from this game other than us winning (always good) and dominating (as we should have).

They were 25-10 and got to the semifinals of the CIT tournament. They must not have won the WAC tourney

Thanks for exactly proving my point. Reporters just place teams, they are lazy. Not sure what last year has to do with this year. Or 2022-2023 has to do with this year.
