This team looks to have a lot more athletes, shooters and is actually playing defense.
Yes it’s a nobody, but the look is better

Unfortunately we have cupcakes so we won’t really know till we play Texas Tech in a month

LSU started 11-1 and 11-2 in non conference play in McMahon’s two losing seasons. He packs the schedule with shite teams before we get our shite pushed in once SEC play starts.

While I agree with you, it's more of the eye test looks good so far.

I’m really rooting for McMahon to turn it around this year but I can’t get out of my head that we had a head man at the helm that would dress up as a general on opening day and cut a promo giving out free canes to the first 100 students.

What a time to be alive. Thanks Woody

This is a much better team. Solid PG. lots of length. Good shooters. But the biggest difference I see is the Bball IQ. Thomas, Mckenny, Sutton and Tampa have above avg bball IQ. Can’t say that about any player last year. It’s why they look a lot smoother this early in the season. Yes they will need to be able to do it against better competition but it is still a big improvement from last year.

Duh. Everyone knows they are playing inferior talent. That has nothing to do with the level of play compared to last 2 years. UNO next Monday will be be a good matchup as they upset TCU.

What was Bethune Cookman ranking last year. Auburn had to go to TO to beat them the other night.

We have this same thread every season after they beat up on some horrible teams. Then they face a mediocre team and lose. Maybe it is actually different this season, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I understand. I’m not saying they are going to win the SEC. But those teams struggled even when they were winning. This team seems to have chemistry early and part of it is the bball IQ of some of the players. Yes I want to see Mckenny do this against SEC talent but he is a a complete player. Last year we couldn’t even hit wide open 3’s. I don’t think that will be the case this year.

I’ll be withholding my judgment this season until at least a few games into the SEC schedule.

Learned my lesson.

We begin the conference grind on Jan 3 @ Aggies. That's when we'll know what this team is made of

Thomas is best PG since Waters. Can score it. Penetrate and dish or lay it up and draw a foul. Max can straight up light it up from 3. Sutton has a great role too.
Between Nwoko, Reed and Miller we should have some good play down low. Miller has the look of Brandon Ingram when he’s on the floor. Not play wise but body type and athleticism.

Getting good backup PG minutes will be key this year and keeping turnovers low.

70% from the field is 3rd highest since 1950.
