It doesn't matter what Mulkey says or anyone here says. Assuming Ausberry isn't buried by the TItle IX deal, what will decide his success or failure as an AD will come very soon. That of course is the hiring of the next football coach and how that is perceived...quality of the coach...how the process was handled, etc.

I agree with Kim. Jay Johnson is becoming one of us too. Let's give Verge some time. He's committed to hiring the right guy. He hires the right guy and he's the AD for the future. We have the non revenue sports covered now he's just got to get Football and Men's Basketball fixed. Verge can do it but we have so ALL get behind him and LSU.

I’m not overly worried about Verge. He will have some input into who the next coach is, but he is not going to make this choice alone.
