Is Verge being set up?

Clearly there was no deep search for an AD. At least no evidence.
The decision to hire verge as AD was done to send message of stability. Rousse made the decision with support from the board and others but according to Rousse, “I’ll remove the interim title and then we’ll address the situation” . Wtf is that!? clearly not a longterm or confident decision by Rousse.
Again, There is no account of them doing a thorough search. As such,it appears that this was simple done as the path of least resistance and again, done to show stability more than anything else.
Thinking it through, this appears to be window dressing.
I have to believe that Verge has little latitude. With someone like little lying Landry looking over everyone’s shoulder, I don’t see that Verge has any room for error here. If the coach hired does not do well, Verge will obviously get the blame but is that fair? I mean, the search for AD eas limited to one person- Verge.
It looks to me like Verge is being set up. We all want success but is it really fair to blame Verge if we don’t? For me, it’s all on Rousse.

How do we know by "the situation ", he's not referring to the coaching vacancy? You don't usually remove an interim tag with the intention of replacing someone.

It’s not that deep. It’s just that the state and the university are now run by a retarded clan of good ole baws who are in way the frick over their heads.

I could see Landry and his minions on the BOS forcing the Wilson hire on the cheap, then blaming Verge when it is inevitably a disaster.

It is all a setup.. somehow they hired the president the gov wanted.. but also hired the 2nd choice to a different position at the same time...then 8hrs later the new president has a fulltime AD .. I just don't understand the process.....obviously there were serious discussions had behind closed doors... and everything may end up great, but someone orchestrated it and had deals already worked out

If LSU wants to be known as a 1st class university with a Top 5 athletics program, LSU should always do a bonafide national search for key positions!! The current chaos at LSU demonstrates a complete lack of leadership!!

I wouldn't have taken it. At least he was comfortable in his Deputy role. 3 months later he can be fired and he is screwed with no job.
Seems weird that it happened that quick and this new guy is saying this stupid shite about removing "interim" "for now" and he doesnt know "what permanent is" after 8 hrs on the job. Dude sounds like a big fat Karen.
Of course im 2 margaritas deep right now. 
I mean he is close to retirement anyways. His state pension will be pretty nice.

Call me crazy but there is no way these people are not in over their heads. These all educated people that are at or near the top of their profession. I could conduct this whole thing better than Landry and his crew. No this all is deliberate. They are trying to sabotage LSU.

Right now all we can do is to take one day at a time. I think Verge will by the AD unless previous mess comes back to haunt him. I'm sure the outside media will do as much dirt digging as they can on anybody LSU.
