LSU fans should be able to identify the next hot coach early and the hire is clear.

I would obviously love to hire Lane, the previous search many fans wanted him, but LSU (woodward) wanted a "Whale". Now that "Whale" is sitting on the couch, and Lane is the hottest name now. We missed an opportunity to hire the right "fit". In this cycle there is a clear answer to who the next Lane could be, and his resume speaks for himself. I am talking about "The Angry Elf" Eric Morris. This guy is 40 years old and has North Texas on the verge of playoffs. For those that compare him to Napier they could not be more wrong. If LSU does not hire Morris another SEC program will, and he is only making 1.8 million meaning we wouldn't have to pay him 13+ Mil to come here. He coached Baker Mayfield, Patrick Mahomes, developed 0-star Cam Ward, John Mateer, and his quarterback this season had never played a game in HS another 0 star, and the kid is second in passing yards and will be a portal darling. Mike Leach nicknamed him "The Angry Elf" for his short stature and immense passion. We all want to talk "Fit" this dude develops quarterbacks and delivers great offense and LSU truly needs an expert on one side of the ball. Having the "CEO" coach forces you to be constantly reliant on coordinators. After Sloan, I would prefer the offense to be handled by a savant and hire great DC's. Just feel his name should get more steam for this job.

When did he coach Cam Ward?

Agree - feels like were chasing the dragon when people name coaches that are already proven like Lane, Cignetti, and Freeman. We'd do best with an up and coming guy. Or Saban

people will poo poo this but push Frank to be the permanent coach

Dude is awesome and the North Texas fanbase loves him. The fans hated Kelly. If you cant get Lane he would be exciting just do some research and think about it.

At incarnate Word. I think Ben Arbuckle (OU OC) gets most of the credit for Ward & Mateer

Can you imagine the backlash if this happened

He would be a fine coach for the Tigers.
I'm ready to fully support our next coach, whoever it may be.

This is the problem with us. We wait till guys like this go somewhere else and build a power. We could really build something special with Morris his offense is awesome he would fit great. I am sick of shitty qb play and awful offense

That all sounds great, but Frank Wilson...

I appreciate the write up and will certainly do some digging into him this morning
it only took a year for it all fall apart

It’s beyond interesting that you signed up today and your first post is about the North Texas HC.
You’re not the first that has brought up his name. There’s something going on that I can’t quite put my finger on.
Someone is trying hard to quietly educate the fanbase on this guy IMO

I just couldn’t read through these forums and not see anyone talking about him I love LSU and I am a student I think fans would love him after they learn more about him

Incarnate Word and Wazzu. Looks like Cam followed him from IW to Wazzu in 22 and then Morris took the North Texas job and Ward went to Miami the year after
Looks like he has a lot of Texas connections. Played at Texas Tech, was on staffs at Houston, Texas Tech, head coached at Incarnate Word and now North Texas. So could bolster the Texas pipeline with the inroads he has there and with the skill players Louisiana has his offenses would shine.
Lot of people are going to have reservations about him not having much experience at a major program like LSU. I admittedly don't know much about him but I'd have an open mind after a big name coach like Kelly came here fat and happy thinking his shite don't stink, I wouldn't mind someone that has a hunger to prove himself.
