There's a decent chance whoever the football HC hire is, it won't work out, but please don't run off the best coach on campus. Give Jay whatever he wants and keep that man happy.

I don’t think we need to worry about Jay. He’s in his own world at his dream job winning championships like it’s nobody’s business

LSU is no longer the premiere baseball program from a facilities perspective (and hasn't been for some time now), and I suspect Jay has been pushing for facilities upgrades for a while (and I'm not talking about our makeshift bullpens).

Jay Johnson isn't leaving LSU. Unless it's for the MLB.

I’d trade Jay Johnson and the entire baseball program for a decent football team that really competes every few years.

Not in a million years. From a family standpoint, give me baseball and a change of scenery from what football has become.

This is a genuinely stupid take.

His contract runs through 2032. He’s not leaving because of facilities. Baseball players are different than football players when it comes to NIL and the transfer portal. They want to play for a team that has the best coaches and the chance to win national championships.

Jay’s not leaving because his facilities aren’t the best in the nation

I can imagine that right this second, Verge is probably cycling through all the ways he can piss off Jay Johnson.
Come on, man....do you honestly think he doesn't realize he needs to keep Jay fed?

We’ve fallen way behind from a stadium/fan experience perspective. Johnson is only concerned about player development facilities and I highly doubt those are as big of a problem.

If it hinders his abilities to attract top recruits he isn't going to be happy about it. It clearly hasn't yet, but LSU cannot afford to fall behind much more.

He's been wanting that indoor practice for a while now. Not sure where that stands. It's also known he wasn't that happy with SW over the way we had revenue sharing set up.

I don’t disagree, but with the exception of an indoor infield LSU has top notch training equipment. A recruit isn’t deterred from coming to LSU because of the Mickey Mouse bullpen, Walmart batters eye, or bleachers.

Baseball only getting $250k of the $20 Mil revenue share (13th in the SEC) isn’t ideal. That needs to change.

Please keep Kim Mulkey happy as well. She and Jay are hall of famers who will win more national championships

I was told multiple times on this board that only football matters for an AD bc of the money involved. So by that measure, he should spend as little as possible on baseball.

People from out west don't like the South. To them it's slow and stupid.

Strike 1

Now factor in our retarded governor.

Strike 2

At this point Jay is bigger than LSU. He could go anywhere out west and write his own check.

Top Rated Baseball Prospect: "hmmm, I love Jay Johnson and want to win a bunch of Natties. ... But Alex Box doesn't have a berm.

STARK VEGAS HERE I COME!!!"

Agree. Woodward knew Jay could get whatever NIL he needed to get players so he didn’t allocate any more than he had too for baseball. Jay would rather not have to ask for the money and it what pissed him off. I know for a fact he brought 2 of his bigger NIL contributors to DC instead of 2 BOS. He was rewarding and making a point at the same time. Jay isn’t going anywhere. He and his family love it here and they have very good friends in BR.
