Don’t be surprised when Coach Frank is your new Head Coach

and they give him 25-30 million to build a roster. I heard on the Friday before the ATM game that the money was there to move on Kelly, i posted about it on the scoreboard during the game, and that same “sauce” told me the money people would nearly prefer to hire a no name coach, who was a good “fit”, and give him ALL the NIL money bc they felt like the coaches name didn’t really matter anymore and its all about NIL and who’s got the most. Don’t shoot the messenger.
I thought he was full of crap actually, but the first part of what he said was true down to coach frank being interim so maybe he’s right about this too. I hope not tbh

We had one of the most expensive rosters in college football this year, but lacked good coaching. You can see the results.

If that's the case the money guys are about to get a big dose of reality. Talent is only one part of the equation.
Just look at O's tenure at LSU. He had talent every year but only one year was he able to combine elite talent with elite coaching.

The Verge hire gave me a reset of expectations. I’m hoping we can keep Jay Johnson. That’s the extent of my expectations. Not expecting any good hires going forward. If they happen great, but I am definitely not hopeful.

Verge getting the AD job gives me no hope that the HC hire will be any less lazy.

I was thinking that it might be time to change strategies in light of NIL and the portal, but not that drastic.

I’m certainly not discounting how important the roster is, but if the people making the hire really believe what you say and the coach doesn’t really matter….
The 90s will seem like good times compared to what will come in that case.

The problem wasn’t lack of NIL or not enough highly rated recruits and transfers signing with LSU

I dont think we're hiring Frank, but the fact it's even on the table is insane. You dont see stuff like that from other big-time programs
