I work from home and have to deal with leaf blowers twice a week, very annoying.

Why do they not use electric leaf blowers by now? I find it hard to believe that the technology is not there yet or they aren’t as effective as gas powered ones.

The electric ones are loud too.

Gas will last MUCH longer than a 20 min battery powered blower

I am in the same boat. Those mexicans have no chill, it could be 20 degrees in January and they will still be out there at 6am blowing leaves for what seems like 3 hours.

YAS! If you observe closely they’ll come back to spots where they’ve already blown, trying to look busy.

They're a daily thing where I live and they're supposed to wait on using them until 8a.

Only a think in California

Just like their vehicle counterparts, battery range is the limiting factor.

So you’re claiming the tech isn’t there yet? You can get a Tesla to last 400 miles on a charge, why not a leaf blower?

I have DeWalt and even with 12Ah battery it will not last all the way around my house.Otsvperfrctbfor just my carport and blowing of the mower after cutting the yard.

I can't see commercial guys using them unless they spend a fortune and have a large set of batteries

I personally don't want to lug around a deep cycle marine battery to blow off my driveway. Tesla battery packs are not small.

You can stick a lawnmower sized battery on the leaf blower, I've done it, and it will last for considerably longer than 20m.

The landscapers that took care of my old apartment complex were the absolute worst. I faced into a courtyard, if it were just grass, I could mow in 30-40 minutes. Yet the oxygen thief with the blower would be out there for three hours, constantly varying the RPMs every few seconds. I watched him blow tiles that he'd already been across 3-4 times. It's surely because if he just went back to the truck, el jefe would find him something else to do.

I used my 2 stroke Stihl edger and leaf blower yesterday and I love those screaming little engines. Half my neighbors crank them on the reg.

Well, I guess if you put a 1000 pound battery in a leaf blower it will probably go waaay more than 400 miles.

The energy required to power a leaf blower for 10 hours is a very tiny fraction of an electric car.
