LSU should approach this differently than just 4 years at 20 million or whatever the number was that has been reported. We should try to structure some things differently to make him where he cannot so no.

3-5 year deal - Give him $1 more than highest paid coach and he has a clause that it always moves to that number annually

Buy his old house on Highland and have it waiting for him

Give him structured significant bonuses annually based on level of success. Not just BS like go to a bowl and get 500k. Like 2.5 million for each win in playoffs. Another 5 for winning championship

Then offer him an annuity for life. 1 million a year for taking the job, for life. Increased it to 2.5 mil a year, for life for winning a NC.

25 mil for NIL per year.

whatever is needed for Assistant salaries.

Make the investment. Give him total autonomy and if he wants to name his successor then let him do that as well.

He alone will highly increase all funds for the University. Go read the Forbes magazine article on what he meant to Alabama ten years ago or so. It will pay for itself in spades.

Here's my idea. Don't hire him. Move on to other potential candidates.

I'm sure they offered a significant amount of money. I really think for him though the kicker if even remotely interested in coaching again would be about the structure. Do we have the staffing in place to totally handle the NIL side along with portal. If we do, to where he doesn't handle that and if players want to discuss that they go to the GM staff to where he can coach would help. they said we would be willing to spend. give him 30 million in NIL year one and promise to increase that by 10% each year.

Go back in time 20-25 years. That's the ONLY shot you have. He ain't coming to coach. You people are something else.

He would have to have complete and total control. That's it.

How much do you think Bear Bryant will make on his deal to coach LSU next year? Do you guys think Andy Reid or Vince Lombardi would be better fits? Watch out for dark horse candidate Tom Landry

Mrs Terry and Jimmy Sexton aside, I don’t think money will be the driver for Saban’s decision. At 74, he either has a want to to prove he can do it in the NIL/Transfer Portal era, or he doesn’t. Not to say you low-ball him, but whether it’s $15Mm/yr or $20Mm/yr is all about the same to a guy like Nick Saban

The last thing you should do is try and golden handcuff him. If his heart isn't in it then we should move on to other candidates

“We” don’t structure anything. I have no say. You have no say… board self declared celebrities like SFP have no say.

Are you worth multiple millions and in some instances billions?

They have a say… and Saban doesn’t need incentives to win. He just likes winning.

20-25mil is enough to move the needle. If he doesn’t blink then he really does want to just stay retired.

He already turned down $100 million once in his career at a better job than LSU. No idea why ya'll think this has any chance of happening at all. Bama would have paid him whatever he wanted a year and a half ago. It's not about the money or the contract.

Did you just mention Nick Saban and kickers in the same breath?

It's hilarious how they're setting themselves up for massive disappointment no matter who they hire.

The message board damage control is going to be epic.
