Possible evidence of Atlantis discovered? (SIAP)

One idea is that Atlantis wasn't just ONE city state, but a culture that spanned to multiple locations. Eye of the Sahara ? Or out West of the Straights of Gibraltar? Can't say, but more and more is being found. Fascinating, regardless

I had a cousin from down there in Atlantis.

A continent on the opposite side of the Atlantic Ocean, you say?! What a strange notion.

The Azores being the other likely place.

Not possible based on what we know about the geological history or the tale of its collapse. Has to be in the Med before the straights were overtopped and the Med joined the Atlantic.

Yeah, Welcome to Atlantis, jackin' hammers and vogues, Back to the mackin' and jackin' the clothes.

Speak to Randall Carlson about the Azores and what’s been found.
Not saying I’m convinced either way but might be worth a look.

There's a reason why the Atlantis-type myths and the flood stories are pervasive in most cultures on earth
Humans lived near bodies of water and the climate changes. Rivers flood. Seas expand. Land becomes part of the ocean and lakes dry up and become land
People needed to explain why cultures they knew disappeared

Isn't it curious how it all roughly points to the same time period though? I find it a bit more than coincidental personally.

I’ve said exactly this. And there was a day when the Atlantic broke through & filled the Mediterranean basin. Imagine all the settlements, tribes, etc that heard the roar of a mountain of ocean water pouring through the straits…

Me too. He used to live in Buckhead.

not to mention when God divined a global flood event, notified one old man in advance who then single-handedly built a massive ark large enough to store 2 members of every species on earth and enough food to sustain them until the waters receded, whereupon the animals were unloaded on the peak of a mountain and then went upon their way repopulating remarkably undamaged global land masses
i mean, it makes sense

(From your link)
I don't doubt it.
Agree with your hypotheses.
The 'Eye of the Sahara' with its tell-tale concentric rings of intra-canal systems seems to me to be the definite remnants of a complex, advanced 'city-state' of a past empire (evidence of the very same concentric system /culture is seen in Mexico City).
The Azores and relative shallowness of its surrounding seas seem to me to be be a prime candidate of a past Atlantis location.
Other than Plato's supposed account, I wonder if there's a record it? how many times this earth's land-masses and civilizations have been built, buried, the rebuilt again on past ruins (or merely just became swallowed up by the sea.)
Fascinating subject for sure.

Donnellan said he believes ancient Egyptian records and Plato's text both point to a 'lost Atlantic civilization' that perished in a natural disaster, possibly earthquakes, tsunamis or a comet impact.
I don't doubt it.

The problem with these tales is the telephone game.
Someone tells a story 9,000 years ago and it morphs into present day lore.
When reality some city got wiped off the map by a volcano.

there is not [a record of it]Plato is the single source of the entire Atlantis myth, that’s it. Did he make it up? (yes)
Maybe. Maybe not.
Assumptions:
1) ONLY Plato's one single source from thousands of years ago is said to carry this "myth" till this day? I presume there is much more to it; were other accounts at one time? (or STILL lying around?)
2) No records exists of "Atlantis" or of other civilizations from our historical past. Is it possible they have been withheld and buried in the bowels of secret institutional repositories by The Controllers.
3) Plato's details are uncanny. They note specifics.
There are geographical markers, ocean rises near the Azores, descriptions of the Atlas mountains, concentric "city" layout; Then there are also other underwater discovers of submerged "Greek" and "Romaneque" structures and roads (like Bimini Rd ). collectively, they make the "Atlantis" claims conspicuously possible
quote:
was it intended as a metaphor for religious purposes? (also yes)
You say "yes"; I say maybe not. And frankly, probably not. Our world and its "history" is run by liars.
Just maybe the "myth" and "metaphor" story is just cover.
